The Golden Peak Half Marathon is organized and hosted by ITEN Runners Club Trivandrum, Kerala. The half marathon is a 21.1 km road run through the hills of Ponmudi, a hill station with breath-taking view, it even has part of Western Ghat mountain ranges that is parallel to the Arabian Sea and it is located at 55.2 km north-east of Trivandrum City and most importantly home to more than 500 species of plants and animals. The ITEN Runners Club encourages and motivates the runners to help them live a healthy lifestyle in a safe, supportive and friendly training environment. The ITEN Runners Club is based out of Trivandrum, Kerala and is a non-profit volunteer based organization.

Like the previous year, ITEN is offering only one category of the marathon which is half marathon. The half marathon is scheduled to be held on the 05th January 2020. The marathon is the only Half Marathon in South India with an elevation of 1000m, through the thick tropical forest with its unique flora and fauna. It is a beautiful start as you progress through the 22 hair pin bends and amazing peak when you arrive at the top at Upper Sanatorium. 

You will have to save your energy as you move over 100m for the first 5 km to reach Kallar which is the door to the Golden Peak. The primary movements of your posture is like an arrangement that resembles a solid partner. As you pass Kallar, the base checkpoint, the course will start getting tougher with consistent slope. Also, be aware of the height change as you raise your steps and rhythm without running out of steam. The complete course goes through woodlands, rapids close to the street, grand perspective on spiritualist mountains and some more. As you move forward towards the upper check post at the 19 km mark, you are prepared for the finale. The last 2.1 kms takes you through an amazing view and you will catch the sight of the Golden Peak which can be seen sparkling brilliantly in the sun as the name suggests. Once you cross the finish line, you will encounter the sights, and the scents, the breeze and the rapids, the volunteers and the cheering squads. It will be an experience that will stay with you forever.
