Kalimpong 10km & 5km - 1 Edition

Run with Roshni Foundation (RWRF) is supporting runners from the hills of Darjeeling and Kalimpong to participate in marathons all across India since 2012. Runners are selected for Kalimpong Half Marathon every year, which is organised by RWRF on 1st May. In 2018, RWRF started organising Kalimpong 10km and 5km to encourage younger people to participate in long-distance running, so that the best talents get selected for the team.

Kalimpong 10km will have prize money as follows :

( male and female)

a) 1st – Rs. 10000/- (Ten thousand only)

b) 2nd – Rs. 5000/- (Five thousand only)

c) 3rd- Rs. 3000/- (Three thousand only)

Prizes will be given to the following age categories both male and female:

(Runners who get prize in the above three categories will not get prizes again in their age category)

a) 15yrs to 20yrs- Rs.1000/-

b) 21yrs to 30yrs-Rs.1000/-

c) 31yrs to 40yrs- Rs.1000/-

d) 41yrs to 50yrs-Rs.1000/-

e) 51yrs to 60yrs- Rs. 1000/-

Kalimpong 5km will have prize money as follows :

(Male and female)

12yrs to 14yrs

a) 1st – Rs. 5000/- (Five thousand only)

b) 2nd – Rs. 3000/- (Three thousand only)

c) 3rd- Rs. 2000/- (Two thousand only)

There are no prizes in age categories 15yrs to 59yrs in 5km. They have age category prizes in 10km. 

60yrs and above

a) 1st – Rs. 5000/- (Five thousand only)

b) 2nd – Rs. 3000/- (Three thousand only)

c) 3rd- Rs. 2000/- (Two thousand only)

This event is encourage all age groups to take up a healthy lifestyle. 5 km runs are mostly carried out to promote the culture of running, this event will not only do that but go a step ahead in motivating the young to leave mobile and run with elder people, who may be stronger and healthier than digital era youths. The slogan of the event is – “Take care of your body that is the only place, where you have to live”. Different age category prizes in 10km will add more self-belief, confidence and healthy competitiveness amongst everyone participating.
