MDL is proud to initiate Mazdock Mumbai 10K Challenge 2024 and is confident that the participants response to the initiative shall ensure that the event becomes a regular annual event at Mumbai.
MDL started its journey in 1774 with a small Dry Dock that is still available with the company in good health and operating condition. Over the years the ownership changed hands and finally the yard was nationalised by the Government of India in 1960. Since then, MDL has constructed more than 800 ships including Twenty-Eight Warships and Seven submarines. MDL is the only Shipyard in India with a proven track record of successfully delivering the Destroyer class of Warships and Conventional Submarines to the Indian Navy. MDL is the premier and lead Warship building and Ship repair yard in the country, a Miniratna 1 company Producing and Repairing world class Warships, Submarines and other Commercial crafts. We’re proud to state that the most potent, cutting-edge platforms available with the Indian Navy today are all built at MDL.
As a lead Defence Shipyard of India, MDL is committed to deliver quality ships on time and is capable of meeting the maritime requirements of the nation.
While building Ships & Submarines, MDL is also fully alive to the wellbeing of its employees as well as the society at large. A run every morning takes you to stretching yourself that extra mile, introducing one to the treasure of good health and fitness. Running requires very little investment by way of equipment. Running in a group is even more fun. Even when a group starts together, each one can run at his/her own pace, competing with oneself & becoming better with each passing day.
Even the shorter distances offer the participants a sense of achievement. One feels that he’s achieved something never done before. Running makes you more alert, improves your focus and energy levels as well as mental wellbeing.
