Running has come a long way. From being a fringe sport, a few years back, today running is the sport of choice for all those wanting to get fit.
Marathon runners in India mark January as the start of the year with the prestigious Tata Mumbai Marathon. Almost exactly a month later, comes Tata Ultra Marathon - on 24rd February 2019.
It is certified by the Athletics Federation of India, course certified by AIMS and has been adjudged a Bronze Medal Event by International Association of Ultrarunners [IAU]. Tata Ultra Marathon covers a distance of 50 kms while the Tata Challenge Run covers a distance of 35 kms. Both race categories are open for being men and women to participate in.
The challenging undulating slopes of the Sahyadri range give every runner an opportunity to test their endurance level to the fullest.

As the day breaks, enjoy the breath-taking views of the beautiful Bhushi Dam, INS Shivaji, Lions Point, Shivling Point, Monkey Point, Peth Shahapur Fort, Morgiri Fort, Majestic Fort of Tungi, Pawna Lake view and Tikona Fort.
Lonavala is conveniently located for runners from all over India.
These hills have a historic association with the Tata Group's own ultra-marathon, which began 150 years ago. The Founder, Jamsetji Tata, built India's first hydroelectric plant on these hills, over a century ago, to provide clean power to the Mega City - Mumbai.
